It’s intern season at Bernstein Management Corporation!
Through partnerships with Urban Alliance and Reach Incorporated we welcomed interns to the team this summer to help pave a path into a career in property management.
Urban Alliance provides high school seniors with skills training, mentoring and paid internship opportunities. They strive to level the playing field for future generations by providing students with equal access to economic opportunity.
Reach Incorporated recruits and trains teenagers experiencing social or academic challenges and hires them as elementary school reading tutors. The “Reach Teens” are paired with students who face similar challenges, providing both with an opportunity to improve their literacy.
Bernstein collaborated with Urban Alliance to create a “Property Management Pathway,” to connect students to paid leasing and maintenance internships. Through this program, we brought on interns to our property leasing and maintenance teams as well as the Norman & Diane Bernstein Foundation. In 2020, our team partnered with Reach Incorporated conducting mock interviews with some of their DC teens. Through these mock interviews, students were given an opportunity to get first-hand experience of the interview process to help prepare them for the next step in their journey.
Through these two partnerships, we welcomed a total of five interns. Lyric, one of our senior leasing associates, and Haley, one of our assistant managers, dedicated themselves to training and supporting these students throughout the program to ensure they had the resources they needed to succeed.
We are looking forward to continuing our partnerships with Urban Alliance and Reach Incorporated. We are committed to investing in our community by creating opportunities for local teens to explore careers in property management for many years to come.
